Received a new pair of shades from the sweetest boy ever! I must say it was quite a steal too. :)

Shades, a must-have for sunny days and days when you have sore eyes haha.

The redness in my eye has subsided, but it still itches sporadically. Itch, be gone!

I must say I look pretty ridiculous in spectacles because my lenses are horribly thick. My colleagues have been teasing me about my "new" appearance:

Colleague 1: Wow you got sore eye??? How come one eye only? Must have peeped at some guy using a telescope right?

Colleague 2: Still very pretty lah. It's a different look. Erm..you look very studious now.

Here comes the ultimate:

Colleague 3: Wah..who are you??!! Who are you?!!!

With such colleagues, who needs enemies?

Just kidding.... I thoroughly enjoy their company. ;)

I realized I can't resist the urge to shop online. Regardless, I have to say that I have cut down on my expenses tremendously in recent months, so I definitely deserve a little pat on the back ya? :)

That being said, I just remembered that I bought 5 pieces of clothes (2 dresses, 2 tops and a pair of shorts) from Vera Moda when I was in China and also mineral make-up from Everyday Minerals. I reckon it's a sign of old age. More importantly, it's a sign that I need to tighten my purse strings even more!!

Thank goodness for my recent pay adjustment. I desperately need to save up for our new home. For the time being, I guess I should also shelve my plans to perm my hair.

In addition, I am praying hard that I don't shop during my upcoming work trip to Japan in late August and my prewedding shoot in Macau/HK this September. Friends, please keep me in your prayers ya????

I'm starting to see the museum in a different light now. I used to frequent the museum when I was a kid, but since then, it seems to have transformed into a contemporary cultural playground that appeals to all ages.

Last Saturday, JW and I went to the Night Fest at the National Museum to catch an enthralling performance by Italian aerial acrobatic dancers (I don't know if that's what you call them).

Suspended in mid-air against the backdrop of the National Museum, the dancers performed ballet moves and acrobatic stunts to beautiful classical melodies. It was certainly a refreshing change from the usual dance performances.

Everything was quite perfect, except for the fact that we had to stand amidst hoardes of people in the sweltering heat. Ok, I'm exaggerating. It wasn't that hot, but I could smell perspiration in the air. Eeks.

Anyhow, the performance was absolutely enchanting and very captivating. See it for yourselves:

Before the performance started, we also had lots of fun viewing the various exhibits in the different galleries. I especially loved the film/music and fashion galleries, for obvious reasons. :)

Weddings Galore:

I attended a friend's wedding at The Regent a few weekends ago, where I finally understood the meaning of love at first sight. I fell in love instantly with the ballroom setting- black tablecloth embossed with baroque motifs, red table runner, black chairs. How very unconventional.

I love the use of black in interior design. It spells understated elegance. That jolly well explains why we are using quite a lot of black in our new home as well. I can only pray that my parents don't flip when they see the end result. ;)

It's funny how the only time that I get to blog is when I am on medical leave. I woke up with a red and swollen eye today, hence I decided to call in sick for fear that I had contracted an eye infection.

To my surprise and utter relief, my GP said it's only an allergic reaction. I wonder how accurate his diagnosis is, but thus far, he has never quite failed me. We'll just have to see how it goes.

I'm feeling quite spent now, after receiving a barrage of smses and telephone calls this morning from various parties. It's only when I am away from office that I realize how many phone calls and requests I receive each day. It's appalling. Both my telephones (DID & mobile phone) are perpetually ringing throughout the day. My e-mail mailbox always exceeds the mailbox size limit and my day is constantly packed with meetings and presentations.

I am petrified. Can you imagine how many missed calls and smses I would receive when I go on my honeymoon (I'm planning for 3 weeks)? Yet strangely enough, I still enjoy doing what I do. Very much in fact.

I have to thank my lucky stars, but more importantly, I really have to thank the friend who referred me. :)

Ugh..thanks to my eye, I missed a ride in one of Singapore Flyer's private capsules plus a sumptuous spread at Seafood Paradise. Darn.

5th July marked our 8th anniversary, and I certainly look forward to many more anniversaries together in this lifetime. :)

This year's anniversary was somewhat different from the previous years. Like what JW said, we exchanged our most expensive presents in 8 years -- our individual monetary contributions to our new home. Haha. I guess it also marked a new phase in our journey together.

Unlike my parents, I don't believe that men should pay for everything, such as the purchase of the apartment, renovations, wedding preparations etc. Since I am going to have a share of the house, it's only right that I pay for a portion of it.

I typically prefer to pay for my own shopping as well ,so I eagerly await the day when I can buy a Chanel 2.55 bag and Cartier watch every other month with my own paycheck, without feeling the slightest pinch. It's the sense of satisfaction that drives me, more so than the material goods.

Now, now, don't ask me how's that gonna work out because I haven't given much thought to it. :P

For now, I'm just looking forward to moving into our new home and spending the rest of our lives together. *wink*
