I've been having a fever for the past 2 days(actually more)and am currently on the path to recovery. All plans to meet up with my friends have been foiled, and I'm stranded at home with the telly, computer and the bed.

Jw came knocking on the door at 12 today, a pleasant surprise I must say. He told me he wanted to see me today, but I thought it'll be an after-work affair. I was so frail and weak (and sleepy too) that I couldn't go out for lunch so we both lumbered onto my bed for a nap, though not before Jw abused my cheeks. :(

He thinks my cheeks are like the 8th wonder of the world. *raises an eyebrow*

I happened to be wearing my fav top of the moment too.

Cheeks aside, I realised that it is only when I'm sick that I get enough rest. Ironic isn't it. The funniest thing is..I didn't realise I was running a temperature for the past few days until I went to see a doc yesterday. All along, I thought I was just heaty. I sure hope my brains ain't fried yet. :P

Well, at least I'm still aware that I have a new fetish - the bag fetish!! The celine clandestine is my favourite bag currently.

I also made a new friend recently who offered to loan me her fendi spy for a test-drive. :) What a nice gal!

I'm also an ardent fan of http://www.purseblog.com. It's a photos galore and there're so many reviews of practically every IT bag.

Alrighty..time to return to the comfort of my bed. :P

The girl shopping in the evening, while the boy entertains himself by pinching the girl's cheeks, resulting in a never-ending spate of pimples.

Speaking of which, the girl never used to get pimples until work stress and the boy's cheek fetish kicked in.

Damn.

Anyway..i'm just bored, as you can see.

There was a man (with his family) who seemed to be taking photos of jw & me, so I decided to take a photo of him too hahaha. Spot him if you can!! :P

Day 4 (cont'd)

Taipei 101
After basking in the serenity of the hills, we decided to go to Taipei101 again. Look at the magnificient architecture against the dark sky..this is what the tallest building in the world looks like!

This time, we went there to enjoy the supposedly breathtaking night view, which unfortunately, turned out to be pretty non-existent.

In fact, I think the scenery looks better when captured on film.

The nightview can only be described as a huge disappointment. It's grossly overrated by the Taiwanese cab drivers!!! For once, I actually think that Singapore's nightview is worth looking at!

But nah, I couldn't contain my displeasure any longer.

Shihui and peishan were laughing hysterically while jw was taking this picture. I didn't know how funny I looked till much later :P.

Aiya ugly then ugly lah..I was trying to cheer them up what Hahaha.

See..that's why we left the place feeling slightly happier ;)

Miramar Ferris Wheel

Wanted to drop by Shihlin again..ya we couldn't get enough of it. Before that, we went to Miramar Ferris Wheel. There's a feeder bus from Jian Tan Station (the station that you should alight from to go to Shihlin) but BOY WAS THE FERRIS WHEEL REALLY FAR FROM SHIHLIN. I wanted to mati by the time I arrived.

It was fun nevertheless, cos I've never sat in such a HUGE ferris wheel before. I usually don't enjoy ferris wheel rides because the higher you go, the shakier it feels, but this ferris wheel felt very stable despite the turbulent winds.

As expected, the night view was grotesque. All I can say is, my photography skills are impressive. :P

Went to take cute winnie the pooh neoprints thereafter and I swear the neoprint machines there are simply irresistable! hee huiz, pls send me the scanned neoprint soon hor!!

Shihlin (for the 3rd time)

hehe we came back here cos I think it's the only nightmarket worth travelling to. This time around, we were here for the food!

甜不辣 - No idea what this was, so we decided to try it. Tasted like yong tau foo..hahaha

Popped by another stall for fried ice-cream, orh jian and scrumptious noodles(not in pics cos we gobbled the noodles up immediately)!

Day 5

We spent the day at Xi Men Ding doing last min shopping before heading for the airport hehe..

Stopped by one of the swing restaurants for a quick meal. Decided to pose with the cute my melody stuffed toy that jw caught from the arcade machine! Thanks to him, I now have 5 new stuffed toys on my bed!

haha I look like a Lilliputian next to my bowl of noodles and bubble tea :P

haven't had time to post up my shopping haul yet cos I didn't actually take photos of them..i'll probably have to upload like 5-6 photos cos I bought the whole of Taiwan. More photos soon!

Yup, my dad had a flurry of shopping requests, more so than my mum. That came as a surprise of course, since my dad doesn't usually want anything from my trips.

My dad wanted:

1) Chinese Tea

2) Model Aeroplanes - must be indigenous taiwanese fighter planes somemore... WHERE TO FIND?!?!?!? couldn't find a single hobby shop in Taipei :P

Ok..actually he only wanted 2 items.. I was just exaggerating. Although I didn't manage to get the model planes (i am shopping queen/directory, but this area of shopping is not within my expertise man), I got him the best oolong tea.

He was visibly pleased, and also appeased (we had a quarrel on the way to the airport cos he kept asking why i researched on all the places of interest but I didn't bother to research on where to get his model aeroplanes). :P

Hunger pangs finally got the better of me, so we sat down to enjoy a plate of meatballs which didn't look anything like meatballs.

Pseudo Meatballs!!! It's actually minced meat wrapped in chewy mua chee style flour, topped with a slightly sweet gravy.

Jw didn't like the outer flour layer, but I gobbled mine up ravenously.

Tired from all the walking we did on Day 2, we went back to the hotel to rest before going to Shihlin again. No pics. TOO TIRED from shopping! I not only spent, but I felt VERY spent too! (sorry I know I very corny)

Jw ate the XXXL Chicken Cutlet ALL BY HIMSELF..while I indulged in a box of fried mushrooms..very yummy!!

We also had soy beancurd at 三兄弟. There are so many flavours for you to choose from, you're really spoilt for choice!

Day 4

Finally, the sky was clear. So off to Jiufen we went!

Jiufen

It was slightly hazy, but the view was nevertheless very invigorating. Definitely a refreshing change from the urban landscapes we're so used to.

Devouring gigantic fishballs!!

Like all other tourists, we posed for a picture here too! This is where they shot some HK movie by Tony Leung and er...no idea who else hahah..I seem to be suffering from a serious bout of amnesia.

CAN YOU SEE JW??? His climbing withdrawal symptoms set in, and alas, he gave in to his inclinations. His climb was so graceful and agile it's quite commendable, although part of me really wanted to chide him for doing such a dangerous stunt.

There were a few on-lookers. They were either in awe or very aghast, because their jaws literally dropped to the floor.

Tired and thirsty from all the walking, we dropped by a tea house by the hill to soak in the beautiful view.

Day 1

We finally stepped into our hotel at approximately 7.15p.m. After unloading our luggage and checking into our respective rooms, we headed for Ximending, which was still bustling with life on a Sunday night.

As expected, these pics weren't taken by me. I was too busy rummaging through the clothes and accessories to bother about what the street looks like. :P I was really proud of myself though, for all I bought that night was just a pair of red high heels. :)

Day 2
This day marked the start of our decadent lifestyle in Taipei, well...erm..I should correct this sentence. I meant "my decadent lifestyle".

Taipei 101
We went to Taipei 101 area. Pics will only come on Day 4 cos we went there to soak in the night view that day, a non-existent one to boot.

Dong Xiao Fu Xing/Dun Hua
After munching on diabetes-inducing donuts at dunkin donuts, we decided we wanted to look for Jay's shop so we scoured the whole place. Futile attempt.

What made the search attempt worse was the weather. It was scorching hot, so hot that I decided to whip out my umbrella to shield my fair skin hahaha. Unlike Singapore, it is not considered "auntie" to use umbrellas on sunny days in Taiwan.

In fact, most Taiwanese, young and old, carry umbrellas under the hot sun. That could jolly well be the secret to their fair and flawless skin! Of course, They could just be showing off their pretty umbrellas (yes, they have extremely delectable umbrellas, like those made in Japan!). I highly suspect the umbrella has become a must-have accessory for all Taiwanese.

Although we failed to find Jay's shop, I grabbed the opportunity to do some shopping at the illegal roadside stalls along the street. :P

It was quite a challenge, because the police came twice.

I didn't give up though, because I decided if the stalls weren't gonna come to me, I must go to them. So, I ran after the stalls, which were constantly on the move. I wasn't gonna let the police thwart my shopping plans! My poor friends and bf had to tag along..haha sorry shihui, peishan & jw for boring you guys. :P

As you can see, I stop at nothing when it comes to shopping, my greatest love (next to JW).

Dan Shui/Fishermen's Wharf

Our next stop - my favourite dan shui! It's a suburban area, something like our Pasir Ris, but definitely more scenic. The pics will attest to that:

We tried to take some pics of ourselves there too but the wind was so strong that we all looked like Medusa. Nah, you're not going to see the ugly pix hahaha! This is one of the better ones:

Afraid that we'll all (especially me since I'm so freaking light) get blown away, we had to cling onto our dear lives and jostle our way through across the bridge to get down to where the eateries were. That's where I got my tall ice-cream.

Thereafter, we adjourned to the night market at Danshui to look for 阿婆铁蛋.

You'll probably think we went back to the hotel to rest after Dan Shui, but no, we trotted down to Shihlin for more sinful indulgences.

Me buying faux eyelashes - I loved them so much I went back to buy more. I couldn't stop chatting with the storeowner. :P She's such a dear.
